Debbie is a born again Christian. She gave her heart to Jesus at the age of eleven. After graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Industrial Management, Debbie moved to New York City to pursue her dream of being an actress. She trained professionally in New York until she heard the call of God to leave the secular market and start performing in churches. Debbie has written numerous Bible Studies, songs, skits and seminars. She recently completed her first novel and will turn it into a screen play. It is her desire to produce quality professional Christian films that can compete in the Hollywood market. Debbie is a wife and mother. She is the creator of Joya Perceptions, Sold Out Publishing and Bootstrap Productions. Debbie and her husband, Ed, attend Northpoint Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.
The Person
The Writer Debbie began writing as a child. When she was a little girl she would create backyard movies and cast her friends in the various parts. During college she started wringing comedy monologues. While studying acting in New York she wrote her first play. During the 1990's, Debbie began writing Bible Studies for women. In addition to performing, producing and writing drama material, she became a songwriter. Recently, she wrote her first novel-soon to be published. Her next endeavor is a screenplay. Debbie uses words and drama to impact the hearts of people to change their perception of the world. She believes God has equipped her to reach the world for Christ through drama, writing and music.

Debbie loves to make people think. She challenges people to examine their hearts to see if they are walking according to God's Word. Debbie believes that everyone is a unique creation, created for this moment in time to impact their world for Christ. Debbie feels God has called her to use drama and music to "fire up the troops" so that they will get out and serve God according to the way He has called them. She wants to present her shows in a professional manner because she thinks that God deserves our excellence. Besides performing on stage and screen, Debbie wants to equip other actors by sharing the techniques she has learned. That is why she created the Act Up workshop for actors.
